THERMAL INSULATION BOARD PLASTER MORTAR

THERMAL INSULATION BOARD PLASTER MORTAR

DEFINITION
It is a cement-based, fiber-reinforced special plaster that is used to plaster on thermal and sound insulation materials such as polystyrene-based and rock wool boards indoors and outdoors, increasing the strength of the surface with the application of mesh.
AREAS OF USE
It is used for plastering on concrete, aerated concrete, filler foam in the exterior heat insulation system, in the plastering of the thermal insulation plate, indoors and outdoors. Residences, shopping malls and hospitals. In horizontal, vertical and overhead applications. In all types of reinforced concrete engineering structures.
ADVANTAGES
It is easy to apply and form. It shows high resistance to all kinds of climatic conditions. Its long-term resistance to weather conditions has been proven by hygrothermic wall tests. Thanks to the polymer additives it contains, it has a flexible feature. It has vapor permeability. It is not flammable. Paint can be applied directly on it. Thanks to the fibers in its structure, it absorbs stresses and vibrations arising from temperature differences, minimizing the risk of cracking.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces should be clean, smooth, solid, free from all kinds of dust, oil, dirt, rust, mold oil, detergent and similar adhesion preventing substances and wastes. Surfaces should be smooth, loose parts should be removed. If there are cracks and cavities on the floor or wall to be applied, it should be repaired with appropriate BEYFIX repair mortars. Spaces between thermal insulation boards should be filled with small pieces to be cut from these boards.
Before plaster application, places where dowel will be placed on the board are opened by means of a punch attached to drill bit. Dowels are placed and hammered. Choice of dowel should be made depending on thickness of concrete, brick, aerated concrete, thermal insulation board. For 1 m2 area, at least 6 dowels should be inserted. As the floor height increases, the number of dowels should also be increased. Opening of the dowels properly increases quality of application. If the wide round side (head part) of dowels is too far outside or too far inside the plane of the board, a bad view will occur when application takes rain or with the incident of sunlight. The places where dowels come from are determined.
INSTRUCTIONS OF USE
25 kg of BEYFIX THERMAL INSULATION BOARD PLASTER is slightly poured into 6-7 l of water at ambient temperature between + +5 °C and +35°C and mixed by a mixer with low revolution (400-600 rpm) for 3-5 minutes to obtain a homogeneous mixture.
further mixed by 1-2 minutes before starting application. BEYFIX THERMAL INSULATION PLASTER mortar is applied with a steel trowel on the thermal insulation boards. Glass-fiber mesh is placed from top to bottom with the help of a steel trowel by slightly pressing on the plaster mortar before it dries. Glass-fiber mesh is superimposed by 10 cm at joint
After the first layer of plaster is slightly watered, the second layer of plaster is applied before it dries. After the second layer of plaster is applied, the surface is smoothed with a steel trowel. Prepared mortar is consumed within 3 hours, the mortar that has expired is not applied. After the plaster mortar is completely dry, breathable top coating material is applied.
