THERMAL INSULATION BOARD ADHESION MORTAR

THERMAL INSULATION BOARD ADHESION MORTAR

DEFINITION
Cement-based, polymer-added, thermal insulation board adhesive used to bond thermal insulation boards (EPS, XPS, rock wool, etc.) to surfaces such as concrete, brick, aerated concrete.
AREAS OF USE
Residences, shopping malls and hospitals. In horizontal, vertical and overhead applications. On all kinds of mineral surfaces. It is used to mount thermal insulation board on exposed concrete, brick, aerated concrete, indoors and outdoors. It can also be used as a general adhesive in applications other than sheathing.
ADVANTAGES
It is easy to apply and form. It shows high resistance to all kinds of climatic conditions. It is long-lasting. It has vapor permeability. It is not flammable.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces should be clean, smooth, solid, free from all kinds of dust, oil, dirt, rust, mold oil, detergent and similar adhesion preventing substances and wastes. Surfaces should be smooth, loose parts should be removed. If there are cracks and cavities on the floor or wall to be applied, it should be repaired with appropriate BEYFIX repair mortars. The floor to be applied should be slightly dampened beforehand. There should be no wetness and puddles. If there are too many defects on the floor, fine or coarse plaster should be applied beforehand.
INSTRUCTIONS OF USE
25 kg of BEYFIX THERMAL INSULATION BOARD ADHESIVE is slightly poured into 6-7 l of water at ambient temperature between + +5 °C and +35°C and mixed by a mixer with low revolution (400-600 rpm) for 3-5 minutes to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Prepared mortar is left to mature by 5-10 minutes, after which it is further mixed by 1-2 minutes before starting application. BEYFIX THERMAL INSULATION BOARD ADHESIVE is applied in a way to frame edges of insulation board and to the middle part with a point trowel. The mortar applied board is pressed and adhered to the wall. Care should be paid not to overflow adhesive on joints. Prepared mortar is consumed within 3 hours, the mortar that has expired is not applied. Depending on the ambient temperature and surface conditions, mechanical doweling should be done at least 24 hours later.
